In the pest before our program went into effect an average of only one or t<:o youth per yeai? were involved in a sunner pilgrimage. Due to our recent merger with the CJ? of Boston, we will be unable to receive any funds from Irockton CJP which had previously sponsored our program. We are therefore asking Boston CJP for funds for our Youth to Israel progry." in the amount -»f ,-2500.00 Our ohilcsorjhy in starting this progr?1^ was t-o fold. First, every child that goes, experiences a summer thot will never be forgotten. The tiesthst are n"-de with Israel durin- their Hi^h school years -..ill never be broken. It will help develop the ambassadors who will be the inspired Jewish leaders of tomorrow. Secondly each trip costs over t 1600.00 '.'hile our scholarship was ',500, bach parent will have to contrioute ^1300 vo *->e'id his child to Isr:el. Since all of t-.e monies goes directly into the Israeli economy via pl^ne fare, hotels, deals, gifts etc., our incentive scholarship to each child is multiplied by a factor of four to the economy of Israel. As chairman of our Youth to Israel Fro^ram i.i Brockton, I would like to Flake a presentation for consideration of funds x,o be used for the Spring of 1973 in order to continue this most worthwhile program. Enclosed find a background paper "Youth to Israel" which describes the needs, benefits and guidelines fur our program and proposal, Sincerly, Dr. Ell ?actor,_Chair;>ian
