Vol. Ill, No. 8 — Lynn, Massachusetts potlight April, 1948 Lodge and Chapter To install In Supper Program,, April 18 Chapter Plans Talk April 26 By Cosmetician The latest and most flattering for "The New You" will be reviewed at the annual Mother and Daughter night of Greater Lynn Chapter to be held Monday evening, April 26, at 7.45 o'clock, at the Center by Sima Okun, cosmetician and fashion expert. In her lecture, Miss Okun will stress individual makeup and design to fit the personality, and cover all the distinct and related aspects which contribute to a smart appearance. Members are to invite their mothers and grown daughters to this sixth annual celebration of Mother's Day, at which time the oldest and youngest mothers will be honored. At a brief meeting preceding See CHAPTER, Page 3, Col. 2 Standing Blood Bank Is Planned Under the guidance of Dr. Herbert Goldman, first vice-president of Greater Lynn Lodge, a permanent B'nai B'rith Blood Bank is to be established at Lynn Hospital for all members of Lodge or Chapter and their immediate families. And while the "bank" will be at Lynn Hospital, qualified patients at Union Hospital, Saugus General Hospital or Revere Hospital can obtain blood through the Lynn arrangement. A double postal card is soon to be sent to all members, asking for information on would-be donors. Dr. Goldman is anxious to have the return cards mailed back to him as quickly as possible, so that the "bank" may be set up at once. A sparkling program of entertainment will highlight the festivities of the annual joint installation and dinner of Greater Lynn Lodge and Greater Lynn Chapter, Sunday night, April 18, at the Jewish Community Center. A full- course roast beef dinner, complete with knishes, will be served at 6.30, to open the colorful affair. An eagerly-awaited feature of the evening will be the surprise awards to outstanding members of both Lodge and Chapter for specific accomplishments during the past year. The principal speaker is to be Rabbi Samuel N. Sherman of Temple Emanuel, Newton, one of the largest Conservative congregations in the country. Col. 3 For First Time Breaking with local women's tradition Greater Lynn Chapter has re-elected a president for a second term in Mrs. Rozelda Olanoff who previously served during the 1945-46 season. She succeeds Mrs. Eleanor Roos. Other newly-elected officers are: Mrs. Sophie Denenberg, first vice- president; Mrs. Selma Herlich, second vice-president; Mrs. Evelyn Nelson, third vice-president; Mrs. Mary Levites, fourth vice-president; Mrs. Ruth Jaffee, recording secretary; Mrs. Helen Zimman, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Jean Sherman, financial secretary; Mrs. Ruth Farber, assistant financial secretary; Mrs. Esta Rich, treasurer; Mrs. Estelle Cohen, sentinel; Mrs. Eleanor Roos, monitress; Miss Edythe Goldberg, Mrs. Ann Helfenbaum and Mrs. Rose Stone, trustees. The new officers will be installed April 18 at a joint dinner program with the Lodge. RABBI SAMUEL ZAITCHIK Toastmaster Women Allocate $2884 For BB Philanthropies Greater Lynn Chapter successfully met its allocations to the various B'nai B'rith philanthropies and has sent to the New York office for distribution a total of $2884 on April 1. Disbursements were agreed upon at a meeting of the budget and allocations committee held recently with Mrs. Esta Rich, treasurer, ..serving as chairman. The following benefitted: Youth Service Appeal $477; Hillel $600; Anti-Defamation League $450; BB Youth Organization $477; Vocational Guidance $175; Home for Aged in Yonkers $175; Leo N.
