The Jewish Connnunity Council of Metropolitan Boston joined with 28 other urban councils, the American Jewish Congress;, the Jewish Labor Committee, the Jewish War Veterans, the Synagogue Council of Arwrica and the National Community Relations Advisory Council l this week, in issuing the folloTOng statement « ■PRBSIDIi31T»S .Ci-JI.1i.II go I WiT 0H-lfflff0nATION C i 1 i\ Pending full study of the Report of the President's Commission on Immigration and Naturalization, "Whom We Shall Welcome,- eTnc ub- U+f wd"gT»,gi grrc d -Jowioh organle-afrisns--consider the major recommendations set out therein a splendid formulation of the principles on which a genuinely American Immigration policy should rest.. Those recommendations reflect and in large measure embody the basic, conceptions of a humane, equitable, forward-looking immigration policy in keeping with the traditions of the United States and appropriate to its present position of leadership and responsibility in the world. We are gratified that the principles of immlgra-- tion, which v/ere urged upon the Commission in the course of the extensive hearings by spokesmen representing the three major' faiths as well as major labor, civic, fraternal and veterans organizations, have been incorporated in the Commission's recommendations. .
