Dear Sir & Brother: The Jewish Labor Committee wishes to clear up the confusion recently created by the formation of a group calling itself " American Jewish Labor Council".. This organization has adopted a name which bears a striking similarity to that of the Jewish Labor Committee. The Jewish Labor Committee is an organization of Jewish trade unionists which has the endorsement and support of such outstanding labor leaders as: William Green, President George Meany, Secy.Treas. Matthew Woll, Vice-Pres., and President of the Labor League for Human Rights. CIO Philip Murray, President James Carey, Secy.Treas. Walter P. Reuther, Pres. UAW-CIO The Jewish Labor Committee, active for 14 years in rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of workers, Jews and non-Jews abroad and in combating anti- Semitism and racial bigotry ln America, has among its affiliated organizations such outstanding AFL and CIO trade unions as the International Ladles' Garment Workers Union, AFL, United Hat, Cap and Millinery Workersj AFL, Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, CIO, Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, CIO, as well as the United Hebrew Trades, the Workmen's Circle, world's largest labor fraternal organization, and such outstanding trade union leaders as Adolph Held, national chairman, Joseph Baskin, secretary, David Dubinsky, treasurer, Louis Hollander, S. Wolchok, M. Zaritsky, Charles S. Zimmerman, vice-chairmen of the Jewish Labor Committee.
