0 (Boston Herald, September 16, 1944) DR. MARSH SEES JEWISH GROUP AS BRANCH OP PROTESTANTISM (If1 ■v\y> Dr. Daniel L. Marsh, president of Boston University, predicted last night that liberal elements of the Jewish people would some day develop into a branch of the Protestant faith. Speaking at an interfaith service held at Temple Sinai, Dr. Marsh described the Christian religion as a tree that had sprung up from Jewish roots. He said he expected to live to see the day when Jews would become a Protestant group. Two candelabra, presented to Temple Sinai by Alfred H. Avery, a Methodist layman, were dedicated in services performed by clergymen and community leaders of several faiths. The candelabra were dedicated "to better understanding between Judaism and Christianity, mother and daughter faiths". Participating in the service last night were Wabbi Beryl D. C0hon, spiritual leader of Sinai; the Rev. Albert C. Dieffenback, minister of the Unitarian Church of the Larger Fellowship; Dr. Kuth Richards Miller, director of the.Northern New England School of Religious Education; Dr. Albert Ehrenfried,. Honorary President of ainai; the -*ev. Dr. Frank Jennings, Executive Secretary of the Massachusetts Council of Churches; the Rev. Dr. Phillips E. Osgood, Chairman of the Interfaith Fellowship of Ministers and Rabbis; Rep. Christian A. Herter; Dr. J. L. McCorison, Jr., New England Director of the National Conference of Christians and Jews; Judge A. K. Cohen; and Dr. Edgar S. Brightman of Boston University.
